Muralla
The town of Laguardia was fortified in the s. XIII, during the reign of Sancho VII El Fuerte, its wall being built with sandstone ashlars and various filling material inside. Four doors communicated the town with the outside: Páganos, Mercadal, San Juan and Santa Engracia. The Puerta Nueva or Carnicerías did not open until the s. XV. Today, and despite the damage suffered in the different wars, it retains its original layout, with a good number of towers, two of them adapted to the new bell tower function.
